Who are the Angel conversations?

In 2003, an Edinburgh band known then as Unquiet came across Katie Murray whilst searching for a new vocalist. They stopped their search there and formed the Angel conversations.

The Angel conversations bring together an assortment of musical influences that include punk, rock, indie, folk and even… jazz. This curious combination has resulted in a distinctive sound, mixing progressive and aggressive guitar with fragile vocals, menacing bass and hard, fat expressive drums.

The Angel conversations

Despite a great deal of procrastination and the cruelness of other realities, the Angel conversations love making music and playing live, having headlined at Pride and played in some of Edinburgh’s great live venues including the Liquid Rooms, the Bongo Club and Edinburgh’s underground (literally) rock venue, Bannerman’s.

Most songs are written by Katie (vocals) and John (guitars/effects) although Eileen (keyboard/effects/backing vocals) and Norma (drums/backing vocals) chip in frequently and write their own material.
